My wife ordered 8 eggs. Five hatched, but one died less than a day later. Not sure why. There was a pretty Isabella rooster, but we sold him because he kept bullying Mr. Bumble. Plus he was scared of ppl, despite us treating him the same as the other bantams. How did your egg order go? I have a dozen eggs coming from Meyer next month! 6 Legbar, 3 EE & 3 OE![]()
5 hatched out of 8 shipped is really good! I have heard wonderful things about Meyerās EE, so hopefully they will grow up just as friendly! Thanks & Congrats on your hatch! My wife ordered 8 eggs. We had also ordered some Easter Eggers and a barred rock from Meyer (shipped one day old) in aug 2020. They arrived safe and healthy. Great, friendly birds that laid plenty of eggs until we sold them.
I seem to recall it was one of the first thing you mentioned regarding the lack of security. At least with all that rain it should be easier digging!dig a trench and put a skirt in it and run the rest of the chicken wire up the fence to join with the chicken wire higher up
Do you mean to say that there is no summer in EnglandIt will also be better in the summer months, assuming we get any,
What dedication to become a mama! She seems like a really pretty hen under that fluff too.I haven't paid my taxes for a period of time so here goes:
I don't have a rooster, so she is trying to do a job that will be useless.
Every time I collect my eggs she is in one of the nests sitting on the eggs. She puffs up to about twice her size and looks so fluffy. When i collect the eggs she chatters at me. She stays in the after I collect the eggs.View attachment 3057171
@Marie2020 I would not worry because I believe those two with all their antagonism are both way too stubborn for that to happen. Will these chickens be rehomed if it becomes impossible for them to be cared for at this allotment. I'm so sad too know you and C are having so many difficulties![]()
I would never have found Grochatila without your hint! He's really well camouflaged there!Sunday small tax. Now that the two bantams have found how to get out of chicken zone we have to let everyone out to avoid a revolution.

Can you spot Grochatila (fat-cat-TILA) disturbed during his nap on the manure pile? ( Hint : 50 cm above the rooster's tail)

We had a real hot summer for the past two years, I thought I was living in the Saharan desert.I seem to recall it was one of the first thing you mentioned regarding the lack of security. At least with all that rain it should be easier digging!
