Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Only just got home and I left to go to the allotments and the nearby village at 2.15pm. It's been a long day but so lovely in the sun away from the city. I fell asleep in my allotment chair for 15 minutes and didn't get eaten by the chickens.:wee
As you can see, the new coop is now in the allotment run. I got it through the fence on my onw last night having missed the train I had planned to get and left with 40 minutes to wait for the next train. I'm quite amused because nobody knows how I managed to do it, except Henry of course who watched the entire performance from his roost.:D I don't think he'll give my secret away.

Henry has been crowing during the day. He's so quiet usually that it's a lovely surprise when he lets rip.

Fret got chucked out of the main dust bath for being a whinging big girls blouse.
I got a nice shot of her in another hole.

i love how the hens all jump in together!

Have the chickens had a good look at the coop? Or gone in it?

Hello @ppruitt
Do you have Ex Battery chickens? Please do feel free to post pictures and of course comment as you wish.
No, but I so enjoyed your stories about the Tribes that I started reading this monster thread 4 days ago. And now I am hooked! Picture is of my hatchery BO's.

I take the water hose and wet down the runs for the chickens.
I do too when it's really hot. I also let it run for a while for them, they all love to drink from it and some like to play splash in the puddles. Scarcely this year with water restrictions.
They are really cute 🥰 (and I'm not much for cuteness). I can see how people in your country would fall for bunch of fluff sold in stores especially if they walk in there with their kids 🙄.

Hello Ppruitt and welcome. Wow, so many little ones... Are you planning to keep all of them ? Or eat the roos ?

Well done! But I'm sorry that on such a lovely day there were not more people at the allotments who could have helped you.
nobody knows how I managed to do it
me neither. Does your Scot's heritage include a bit of caber-tossing?

Well there probably weren't that many people left at 9 pm in the allotment.

Here's another clue. If nobody knows it means there was no one there to watch.
I would have said Henry helped, but he was probably asleep by then 🤔. I would bet on some sort of rolling without having to lift trick.
Are you not going to tell us ?

Love the picture. She looks really, really offended! And very pretty too.

That is so awesome. You are going to tell us, though, right? All of these posts of beautiful roosters and cute chicks have me drooling. For now though, I'll have to be content with my same four girls.
