This is one of ISA Brown's that I rehomed. She is 2.5 years old. She has a beautiful comb and wattles.

The chicken on the left is the same chicken that is in the first picture. The chicken on the right is Miss Henrietta. If you look closely most of her comb is gone. I found her in the run with it hanging down. I cut it off and covered it with cornstarch.

It has also been one year since I lost my all time favorite rooster Rick to a bobcat. My chickens used to have a lot more freedom and movement, but now I keep them in a run; otherwise I'd lose them all eventually. I would love to let my flock free range, but they wouldn't last a day here.

I have the same issue… lots of predators. Bobcats are just one of many types.
