Send her back to ask about the coop. It would be worth it to get a better structure without too much cost.Nope, no coop. We did get some pellets and some corn. I doubt if C even asked about the coop.

Believe me I've tried thatthat's a no go for me. It works well being damp and mixed into foods
They look... plump ...and even fluffy !Henry hasn't shown much interest in the newcomers yet. He wanders over and does a half hearted herding. He watched me inspect them very carefully.

Legbar meeting about what to do about the new lot I suspect. Carbon and Copy have been quite aggressive towards the new hens. Just bullying more than anything else.

Can you pair her up with one if the less aggressive towards her apart from the rest to give her more confidenceSpring suddenly arrived two days ago. We got the chicken zone back to it's normal larger setting and everyone is happy.

However Chipie is still getting out and hanging out in front of our house, probably because she is bullied by two ex-batt and now Théo doesn't follow her anymore. I'm afraid she'll be in trouble in case of an attack. She isn't very careful, she is only afraid of humans.

Let me introduce you to the newcomers.
C said they had checked them over but I checked for myself.
Too late now if they have anything contagious.
They are in good condition. Better condition than the ones already here.
No mites or lice. No sign they have had mites or lice recently judging by their plumage and skin. No scabs. No SLM. Clean thoats, vents, underwing and back of neck. They've been fed properly from how they feel. All bar one are very friendly and are obviously used to being handled.
There were 8 of them. 4 died recently through no fault of the person who kept them from what the condition of these 4 tell me. It all just got too much for the person they came from apparently.
They stuck close to me most of the time they were out of the coop run. The lightest coloured hen is very independantly minded and wasn't interested in going back to the coop until almost dark.
Three of the newcomers went and settled under the small coop with one of the current hens.I put the 3 and the odd one in the coop when it became apparent they were not up for the main coop.
Miss independant decided to roost on the box that is under the roost bar Henry and his favourites roost on.View attachment 3063075View attachment 3063076View attachment 3063077View attachment 3063078View attachment 3063080View attachment 3063081
