She's a legbar. The plan is not right now sweetheart. Maybe when the coop situation is improved. But, you know what promises are worth.

Have they gone through a moult on your watch?

I don't know; at least not with the Ex Battery hens. Hard to state which is feather regrowth from battery damage and what may be a moult.

Weird, I would have guessed the deer would eat the berries as well, they sure love apples.

They cleaned up completely the patch with the strawberries, about 40 salads and three rows of chards. I hope they don't pick on the apple tree tonight .

Vanille had a hard molt last fall and grew the most beautiful feathers afterwards, but now they have started breaking and she is pecking at them pretty bad.

Do you think they were just curious because no one was home ? Or did something scare them away ? You'll see today if it was curiosity they will probably go back there !

Probably something that scared the chickens.
I suppose they wouldn’t jump into the pigs run if they are frightened of her. And there is nothing of interest growing there.
But I have no clue what is was. Their dog wasn’t at home. And I haven’t seen any other dogs / predators.

What a lovely video. It brought back some very happy memories.
The Ex Batts are lovely but they don't present quite the same challenges as the tribes.
I do try to keep up with your and MJ thread.
