Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Ex Batts good evening one and all!

Monday and Tuesday were bummers for me as I had an appointment for my pain and on way to return home I rear-ended a car.

Hubby has an appointment with his orthopedic surgeon Thursday but not sure we will make it due to the weather.

77 partly sunny 79% humidity feels like 78 storm surge warning tropical storm watch winds 45 to 60 mph with gusts up to 75 mph.

NICOLE is a tropical storm that probably go on land as a Cat 2.

Have a great day!
No damage to you in the car crash I hope?

I think you did much better than Henry when your bed was moved from Catalonia to Bristol, but if I understood it right you had no choice.
There is going to come a point when Henry doesn't have a choice either.

I really must get some tarpaulin. I've used a sheet since the summer it really helped with keeping both the sun and rain out of the run.

What are duckboards? I have a lot of pallets here.
See further on.

There's been nothing but winds and heavy rain here. It's supposed to be better on Thursday.
Try telling my girls that.
It's going to be better weather here for a few days apparently.

This one was perched on the allotment run gate when I arrived complaining that she was hungry.

It stayed dry this afternoon and evening.
Had a Kite floating around for a few moments. Chickens went quiet and still and tracked the Kite,

One of the Ex Battery hens went and roosted with Henry this evening. The rest in the new coop.

The allotments are very quiet.

it's looking quite muddy again by the gate. What are your plans for that this winter? is that where you'll put the duckboards?
That area by the gate should dry out okay. It has in the past.
The duck boards are for inside the coop run, mainly at the front.
