Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

My belly has raged with everything going on. Don't listen too the tin men they don't speak for all of us. It's like living on quick sand you just have no control

That about broke my heart but one good thing came out of it , he's completely upgraded those chickens he is caring for now. They look a thousand times better
Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend anyone with my generalisation. I know the majority pro-exit was not overwelming. And obviously almost 50% of the English are perfectly sane. The other half may have been mislead by politicians and spin doctors. And the politicians and spin dictors who where in favour, must have had a double agenda. 🙏

More pre Brexit tax at the front door for insane conclusions with a little philosophical truth in it:

Yer avin a larf.
C cannot do it. C is at work and worse still on shifts.
I didn’t understand , asked google translate.
Translated ‘Yer avin a larf’.to Dutch and back again:
You are a larva.
That makes sense 😂

instead of assuming a lot of madness and / or corruption, you might understand it better if you read e.g. this
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/nov/06/brexit-blame-uk-economy-opportunity-eu
I didn't vote for it by the way, but I am a fan of democracy as better than any other method of running a lot of people's lives, and the majority vote was to restore our independence.

Thanks for sharing. interesting read.

I didn’t refer to the economic problems like inflation and shortage of workers we are probably all facing in every country in Europe.
And I am glad with Europe, because the democracy of my country doesn’t work properly anymore. European countries working together has pro’s imho. At least for peace, safety and the environment.

Eg. Our government has to be told by Europe and in court what to do about pollution of our soil and air, because they
mainly look at trade and government income, and don’t care much about the people, flora and fauna in a polluted or even a dangerous environment. This decline is going on for decades now. So I welcome most of the European laws and regulations. Its seems that they try to govern with an eye to the future. While my government doesn’t seem to care about the real problems. Partly because it’s made harder for them to speak out. Fascists, sort of hooligans, angry people and anti-democrat’s in our country threaten persons in local and country government more and more.

As if rules and regulations don’t apply if we don’t like them. My free ranging chickens don’t obey them either.

You haven't offended me in the least. :)

I feel everything is fixed even the favourites in the latest celeb was voted out early this year that really made me think 🤔. Because had they stayed they would have surely won.

Well, a first for me this morning: put down the breakfast bowls, let out the chickens, and a few minutes later that male pheasant flew in and headed straight for the feeding station. My view from the house was interrupted, but a minute or so later saw him being chased from the area by Ystrad, one of this year's pullets. They were really facing off, and she was getting the better of him. Astonishing thing was most of the rest of the flock - including roos! - all left the feeding station and were all behind her, watching proceedings.

In due course the pheasant decided discretion was the better part of valour and ducked into a border, while Ystrad headed back for a well earned (and apparently rudely interrupted) breakfast.

I am seriously wondering if that pheasant is trying to join the flock. Of course anything must be better than being shot at in the woods nearby, where he probably grew up.
I'm getting this with a few of our wild birds I'm sure a couple of sparrows and red breasted Robins think they are part of my birds family. At least they are healthy eating what my girls eat.
