Okay morning x Batts, actually early afternoon.
Time change is kicking my butt worse this round.
I have 9 in a incubator first out this morning a couple days early.
2 have hatched both blue egg. This was first this morning.

Semi-related - Old is 15 years older than whatever age you are.

Tax is Pepper. I like how the green shows up in this picture. I've thought about draping some willows or switchgrass to shade the nest. She doesn't like her face in the sun when she is there. On the other hand, she could use the other nest box that is nearly all shaded.

She is pretty.

I left my camera at a friends on the way home tonight so no pictures. Not that there was much in the way of photograph opportunities. Pissing down with rain, 45 mph wind gusts. At least it wasn't very cold.

One very obvious difference between the tribes in Catalonia and the allotment crew fairly recently is the allotment crews willingness to use the coop during the day in bad weather. This wasn't the case with the tribes who would shelter under the coops or various other places in preference to the coops.

Henry has got live SLM again. There must be some genetic predisposition. I'm going to use Ivermectin again. Not overly happy about this.

It rained here today as well, and guess what? The coop roof still leaks.

They look very good ! Nougat, whom I mentioned when we spoke about Meimei's poopy butt, has her poopy butt back and so has Brune an other of my ex-batt. We will have to clean/trim them depending on what they agree to.
I hope you are morally surviving work overload and land searching !

Interestingly, it is our commercial production type of birds that always have the cleanest butts.

I bet. Do any of the girls have it? I've heard castor oil on the legs is good both for its medicinal properties and smothering the dang mites.

Should the Marans be a cockerel it has been sold.
