Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Smart choices.

Corn and nightshade vegetables (including white potatoes) have been shown to increase inflammation in the body. If I eat any of them I get a sinus headache and my arthritis flares up.
I was having terrible lower extremity edema. I started wearing compression stockings, that was the first thing that I noticed improved almost instantly when I went carnivore. I can't totally give up veg, I love my cucumbers, brussels and radishes, etc, but I only eat them once in a while.

I used to be vegetarian all though my 20's, for humane reasons. I never had problems with it, but at that age one can beat up your body a lot ( drinking, late nights, stupid stuff) and get away with much of it. Then I married a carnivore and gradually we melded into eating some meat but not everyday or a lot. I still try to source what we do eat from humanely raised sources but that is challenging. I am a big believer in listening to your body. Every now and then, I get a craving for beef, normally it's not something I've ever liked eating, even as a kid, and we don't have it in the house, but when I feel the need I eat it. I do eat chicken, but not my own. I'm too much of a wuss. Tax, Willa and Celeste

I am not one to openly trust the government, they are influenced by money, from people such as Bill Gates who is pushing population reduction while pushing manufactured vegan foods and suggesting we all get used to eating bugs. LOL

The proof off the benefits is in my lab results. The bad cholesterols (tryglycerides, and LDL) dropped, good cholesterol, (HDL) is finally almost up to the normal range, it has always been low. I actually feel better than I did in my 20's before my thyroid went off the rails. When I was strictly following the "government and medical" community guidelines, my labs kept getting worse, I felt awful, and they wanted to put me on statins, which gave me chest pain. It works for me, and no one lives forever, but at least I will feel better and be stronger in my old age. ;-)
I do trust our governmental institutions more than the influencers who are paid by the (food) industry. Even the gov. is influenced by the industry (lobbyists). But way less as the influencers. The gov. institutions and some newspapers (mostly online nowadays and in general) are the most thrust worthy. One news platform called, Follow the money (FTM) and two dutch newspapers:( NRC and FD), are largely independent and do a lot of research to share truthful news.

I know a lot of people do not thrust Bill Gates intentions. But i think he is one of the few rich people who tries to make a better world for all of us.

Eating insects instead of meat is just one way to lower the carbon footprint.

The government in Australia seems to be quite trustworthy too, and like you we have a small number of trustworthy news platforms.

If I were American I might not trust the government, which appears to be vulnerable to exploitation by the rich and powerful. But having never lived there (and never would) that's only a feeling, not a certainty.

I don't trust anyone or anything competing in a market for profit without a thorough check first.

Tax payment is Christa in the light of the breaking sun.

The problem with eating insects is the chitin, which studies have shown to be a trigger for allergic reactions, especially with people who are already allergic to shellfish.
