Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

It is a miracle salve. :) I just want to discuss it with the vet, to make sure that the chemicals are safe, for the purpose of chicken feet.
Many people on BYC use it for bumble foot. I have used it for that as well as for a small buried abscess on myself (possibly a splinter I didn’t notice). It is essentially just softening the skin to allow crud to get out more easily.

Three hours today. Mostly dry and 11C with light winds.

That's Mow and Dig in the distance. So far they've shown no signs of heading out the filed gate thankfully.

Fret was showing some interest in one of the nest boxes today. She's looking like she getting ready to lay eggs again. I wonder if she's thinking about sitting and hatching.

Killay's feathers are showing their beetle green sheen particularly well on the wing this morning

and the next generation boys are shaping up nicely

though Tintern's chest plumage is oddly asymmetric

but it's still growing, so maybe it'll sort itself out in due course.

and Paprika still hangs out with her brood sometimes - they were 19 weeks old on Tuesday! That's her on the left, with Llandeilo and Rhondda at the back, Oxwich in front left of Tintern, and Gwynedd going off to the right.

If you haven't used it on chickens, what do you use it for?

(I'm hoping it will draw out a recalcitrant pimple!)

I use it on any thing that I can't get with tweezers.

I have an area on one of my fingers that I need to apply the PRID.

It is known as a drawing salve.

She did so well with Dig and Mow, she is probably feeling like it is a worthwhile adventure to add more perfect offspring to the tribe. :) Honestly though, they have, since you have been caring for them, been their healthiest and most secure, so her reproductive instincts are probably in over-drive after having been delayed by early life.
