Not much snow here this year. About 9 days of winter weather.

My chickens have started to lay 4 to 5 a day.

I had a couple of chickens that could not get on the roost, so I helped them up.

The Bard Rocks are some heavy chickens.

Two hours of on and off rain at 8C. They got out for 15 minutes or so.
By the time I had cleaned the coop, done their water and fresh water for the geese, fed everybody and dragged yet another damaged and soaking tarpaulin out of the weeds by the pond it started to rain quite hard. Everybody took to the coop extension and there we sat, the hens trying to avoid Dig's mating attempts, Henry just wanting to go to bed and me hoping the rain would back off by the time I walked for the bus.
Someone, I think it's Mow has changed nest boxes. This is something that in the past has meant that the hen is planning to sit. It could be that the other nest box was occupied though.

Two and a half hours today. 10C with light rain on and off.
It looks like Carbon has decided she'll lay an egg. She used to lay greenish eggs.
When she stopped laying back in October last year her eggs had turned the pinkish colour you can see in the picture. It's a bit long but it is her first egg after the winter break. They should get rounder as she gets into the swing of it.
Mow had pulled a muscle or rolled a tendon. She doesn't limp but she does stretch her leg out every few steps when foraging.
