I opened the maternity coop up today


The mothers and babies are having a good time.

Two and a half hours today. Grey and warmish.
Carbon is still feeling miserable but she's eating and drinking.
I did Fret's legs and feet this evening. She's getting around; not as quickly unless she uses her wings.
Mow is eating a bit more now.

Wednesday is looking like a difficult day. There is an anti immigration demonstration planned in the area where I live. Apparently the shops have been advised to close. No doubt public transport will grind to a halt.
There is a post going around here asking people to defend their neighbourhood against the incoming rioters.
I'm a bit old for rioting.
I may have to spend the night at my eldests.

We are getting rain and wind.

I saw where it dropped down to a tropical storm today. We just got some interesting clouds and cooler temps. Looks like it is completely skating south of us.

The chickens are loving the cooler weather and are extremely active.

Our forecast is currently 8"-12" of rain (20-30 cm). The hazard for us is twofold:

1. The storm strengthening when it hits the Gulf stream's warm water off the coast of the Carolinas

and/or

2. The storm getting stuck in a similar position, not moving, raining heavily for days

Good thing I bought a couple extra bales of straw!
