A few baby mites most still grey so they haven't fed.
I truly believe that painting with a DE mash is perfect now. Paint twice on the uneven spots, roosts and joints where mite eggs can hide. A film of DE inside the coop and extension kills every nymph that crawls out of a mite egg.

Monitoring daily for a few weeks with rolls made from ribbed biscuit paper, attached under the roosts will show you if the baby mites are gone.

Not sure why I would want to paint DE paste and wrap cardboard detectors when I can clean up with a blow torch.

I wear an eye patch because bright light hurts my eye and my glasses are light sensitive darkening.
I'm on the bus. There's a women with a bit of a brat of a child in the seats in front of me. The child hangs off the headrest the wrong way round in the seat and keeps staring at me and pulling faces.
I bent my head down, took the eye patch off which does cover a lot of the damage and the glasses and then raised my head leant towrds the child and went "wuuuuhwaaah." The child burst into tears.
Sometimes being horrid is just so satisfying. :p
:lau

Warmish and grey.
I saw my prospective chicken helper yesterday. We are going to have a couple of training sessions. My feeling is this one may work out.

In case you miss a few mite eggs. You never know when they hatch. Maybe a few mite eggs wait till you think they are all gone or till next spring.
