I think Shad needs it after all the pizza crap. I agree with him you all should move to Shrekdawgs thread (elsewhere) with or without pineapples.

Serious tax and about flock behaviour.

I didn't like it that Ini mini and one of the Amrock juveniles started to sleep in a nestbox after the family got too big to roost in the little coop. I managed to intervene in moving Ini mini with the Amrock juveniles to the rebuild playhouse coop.
Just moved the ones in the nestbox a few times to the playhouse at dusk/after dark. And once the whole family except Gin (or Tonic).
Black decided it was time to quit mothering and roosts with the hens in the extension now.

Upgraded the playhouse with an auto pop door to keep the family safe during the night.

I think more pizza responders need to pay tax with at least one rooster or 2 hens or 2 juveniles in it!

Just looking out for my girls, we hav a mouse situation here. They just got in again. I have someone coming around tomorrow to help me figure this out.

Agatha is amazing, she was stood on the coop door keeping them out she's so tired and I am very proud of her. View attachment 2907398

The coop door is now closed. But it's official, my battery escapes have most definitely got their positions in the diva flock.

Princess diva, was on patrol last night, tonight it's Agathas turn.

RIP Cadoc

I euthanized her this morning, at 16 weeks old. She had started to use her left wing as a crutch, was struggling to walk anyway, and the August brood had started to bully her.

I don't think she could scratch the ground since her injury in week 2, nor chase flies across the lawn, but she did enjoy grass beneath her feet, sun on her back, membership of her large extended family, and good food. It was a short life, but a better one than most chickens get to live.
