Browser version has been better in my experience.I’m a bit confused by the discussion of browser, mobile, and app.
Most of my posting is done from my phone, but it’s the browser version (backyardchickens.com), rather than via an app. It functions almost exactly the same on my phone (via browser) as from my laptop.
Where are people having difficulties on mobile?
Phablet.I feel like smart phone screens are huge! It’s like having an ipad in your pocket. Of course I not only remember flip phones but the car phones you had to plug into the lighter…like remember first hand because I had one in my minivan![]()
Keeping a old phone as a backup is always a good thing to do. I have two backup phones.Keep it as a backup in case the new one gets broken. The old ones seem to have been more durable.
Yup. I remember my grandmother having the "mobile" satchel phone..lol She never used it because the calls were so expensive.I feel like smart phone screens are huge! While I’m probably not old enough to be your grandma, we used these because there was no other way to communicate out in the mountains. Flip phones had existed for a few years by then but they certainly weren’t something people in darkest Montana were carrying around and my parents wanted something in the cars in case we got stuck, which is the only time I remember using them-to call my dad to come get me out of a snow bankYup. I still miss my old Nokia Brick. That phone went through the wars, it survived 5' drops to tile and concrete, full submersion in dishwater and the pool, and lasted years.
I just got rid of my 2014 Nextel in Nov 2023. And that was because it wasn't able to get updates and none of the apps would work on it anymore .I still miss my old Nokia Brick. I remember my first dust wall in Afghanistan back in 2002. Quite unpleasant.I just got rid of my 2014 Nextel in Nov 2023. And that was because it wasn't able to get updates and none of the apps would work on it anymore .
I ran out to see if I could get the chickens to go in when I got an alert on my phone for a dust storm. We don't normally get dust storms.
It was coming from the center of the state. Most of the chickens ignored me
The news posted a video of in a town and that's about how it was here. Just trees instead of houses

It sounds as if they depended on Henry so long that none have truly stepped forward to take his role.Four hours today, Sunny and warm.
I've read a few times people saying how much more peacefull their chickens are without a rooster. That's not what's happening at the field. Not only are they bickering a lot, the group forage configuration one might expect isn't really happening. It's not just Mow who wanders off; half the time I don't even know where Tull is and have to go an find her.
It wasn't like this when Henry was here.
For all I know they may be acting normally as a female only group having never cared for one before. I don't like it and I don't think the hens do either.
