The snake also got the eggs Chippy was sitting on, 4 days away from hatching. She is ok though.

that's a real shame about the eggs, but good that the broody's OK; the mottled and frizzled chicks are super cute

I feel fortunate that, so far, the snakes are quite happy staying out in the wild/rough bits (and my mums deck.LOL) and are not overly interested in the chickens and turkeys.

Yeah- my back wasn't happy after that first day. Got interrupted by two days of rain, but that was great because it softened up the ground.

Some bushes that were there when we bought this house. We had them cut down last fall, but i just now got the roots out.
