I’m adding shrimp shells to the list of bizarre things that chickens eat.
I made jambalaya for a late Juneteenth meal, and the girls were quite happy with the tail shells. (The shrimp were already peeled except for the tails.)
I can verify that chickens seem unbothered by spiciness, because after the Cajun seasoning, Tabasco, white pepper, and something else I’ve forgotten, I’m dyin’ here.


I guess since shrimp (and lobster and crabs and others) are really just sea bugs, something I try hard to forget, this shouldn’t be surprising.
