Two and a half hours today. We had some rain.
While nowhere near enough, it's a start and there is more forecast for tomorrow.
They look best of friends and perhaps they are but it seems to me that it's all on Mow's terms.

You’re right, that’s an awful lot of leakage for that mix. I too am used to the leakage only being present on the wings, but I haven’t seen many individuals quite as mature as these ones. Even so, the red on the saddles is a bit extreme. Maybe a generational RSL mix?

Or.....maybe someone was trying to make a sex link but got the breeds swapped (instead of the red roo x white hen, they bred a white roo x red hen) so all the chicks look like red sex links, but aren't sexable until the standard age?

Paprika has gone broody Evidently she doesn't think we've got too many chickens already...

I thought she was going to take a year off this year, given that Fez, Polka and Oxwich have already bumped up the numbers, but apparently she was just waiting until the littles got their wings. And as she is the best broody here (in terms of long term success), I might just let her have four dark eggs whose mum's genes deserve to be perpetuated.
