Shaken up by deformed chick- assisted hatch.

I hope things go well for him and you! Love to see pictures of him!

Everyone meet Hugh-
In this picture you can kind of see the wing draping down his leg but it's hard to get a good picture. Hugh is completely dry. I have not the slightest clue why his feathers dried like this and he didn't fluff up. He is looking more normal by the hour though!

Can it eat and drink? If not, it will die naturally. But if it can it will be interesting to see how it grows!

He's beautiful :)

bless you for giving him a chance. My Priscila Pearl (a white showgirl silkie) was hatched with spraddle leg that didn't correct with hobbling. I was so in love with her. She died around 13 weeks old. I'm glad I had that tiem with her...and she got to experience life...

Try giving him a bath. The feathers look like the gunk stuck and dried to them making them stiff. It happens sometimes when they shrink wrap. But maybe wait a few day until he gets stronger

I've had a chick dry this way. I just wet it down a bit with a warm wash cloth and put it under a heat lamp to dry. I have no clue as to why that happens, but it's happened to me.

The deformities don't look all that bad at all. I believe he/she will do fine :)
