Dakota stopped on the top of a hill. He howled. Wolves crowded in front of him and howled with him. He walked down to them and greeted them but the wolves scared him away with growls and bites.

Anna sat wide eyed. Was this his family refusing to take him back? He probably thinks he failed to find a mate? Anna thought. She didn't know what to do about it.

Skyler heard, her ears propped up, she walked slowly, she saw that big pack being mean to Dakota and growled.
 
Dakota tried his best to show submission to them to get them to accept him again. An alpha with blonde colored coat tackled him. "Forget it Dakota! You left and we warned you that if you came back that we would attack!" He snarled. Dakota scurried away, his head low in humiliation. The pack members laughed at him and moved on.

Anna frowned. She ran down and jumped out and growled at the pack that was moving off.

Dakota whimpered in defeat

Skyler growled fiercely and attacked the alpha, ripping and tearing at his skin.
 
The alpha threw her off, and growled fiercely at her. Then he left with the pack, they were out of sight.

Dakota felt embarrassed, a female just stood up to his father.

Anna nudged Dakota. "Hey, are you... alright?" She asked

Dakota turned away. "Yes." He mumbled

She barked meanly and stomped away. She was proud to see the alpha was bleeding greatly.
 
Dakota whimpered to himself and turned to Skyler. "Hey Sky, if you don't mind me calling you that. Thanks." He nuzzled her to say thank you
