We have one Barred Rock roo that does this little, awkward jumping dance thing, so we named him "Stewart" after the character on Mad TV ("look what I can do!")

...and little "Peanut", an OE hen...

I had a dog names Festus when I was little. I love that name

I have the following names:
Blondie (gold colored hen)
Marylyn (red/black bantie w/feathered feet, named by a BYC'er)
Boss (topdog hen black aust)
Buck (topdog rooster)
Hawk (black aust cross hen w/white feathers on her neck..looks hawkish)
Pebbles (barred rock, when she first started 'talking' it sounded like pebbles being tossed in a pond)

Havn't named the rest

Hello everyone! I'm new to BYC.

I would love to add some of my craziest chicken names to this list. My chickens actually answer to these names when I call them! Sorry if my post is long, but there's a story behind every moniker.

Kitty Meow Meow (white leghorn cockerel) - He was 2 days old when I got him. I was cuddling him in my hands when I said to him "you're so cute I just want to meow at you like a kitty." So I decided to name him Kitty Meow Meow. Sadly, he died in August at 12 weeks from a very nasty cold he just couldn't beat.

Stupid B*tch (don't know breed) - Don't tell me I'm mean. She absolutely deserves this name. She's been here for 6 months and she's still afraid of us. We've never hurt her or done anything to frighten her. Besides, she sees how the other chickens are treated, so she's stupid for thinking we want to hurt her. She's very mean to my Sebright bantam, and she "won't give it up" to my rooster who has a crush on her. Hence the name, Stupid B*tch.

Dinosaur (white rock cockerel) - I don't know what I was thinking when I named him, but his name was a big hit with my 4 year old niece.

Doggie Ruff Ruff (black cochin hen) - I got her a week after Kitty Meow Meow died, so he was still on my mind when I named her. I thought to myself, if I had a kitty, I need to have a doggie!

I also had a pair of brown pharoah quails named Boy and Girl.

Hi everyone, I'm new here today. Stumbled across BYC and love it all ready. I have over 200 chickens of different breeds. I don't name all of my chickens but when a name seems to fit one then it gets that name. A few names are Aunt Bee a fat cornish cross hen, Gabriel a white leghorn rooster, Fonzie a buff brauma bantham rooster, Big Red a NH rooster, Little Girl a BBR hen, Fluffy a very broody Buff Orpiton hen, Peggy short for peg - leg a hen with a bumb leg,. That all I can think of right now.

I have a cochin named "Chicken Hawk". She perches on your arm like a falcon.

And our rooster, Drumstick, earned the name "Stupid". I'm not sure I can even call him Drumstick anymore. He's just "Stupid".

I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT POST PICTURES OF MY CHICKENS HERE IN THIS POST!!! But every years new chicken get kind of themed names, one year movie star names, one year artists, 2007 were names of my co-workers and since 2008 I have "Nifty-chicken", "Mahonri", "Buster", "Debiraymond", "Miss Prissy". Seriously, I am not addicted to the BYC forum............
