WHAT...Hook me up???!!! Do you have an "in" or what?

Yup I do have an in... I'm liked in the Amish Population around here because I'm the "English that lives like they do" AND they're building it and delivering within a week! Can you go wrong with people named Jacob Gingrich and Naoh Yoder? I could get a pic of one of their other ones. All amish hewn lumber, tin roof, 2' door and a pop door with a double hung window... ROXXOR! These guys have their own saw mill.

Yep, 120, lol. A local farmer who specializes in heritage turkeys has flocks of separated rocks as well. He sells me fertile hatching eggs for $2.50 a dozen, 10 doz at a time (every 21 days). Basically, I sell the day olders as soon as they hatch for $2 each straight run. Any leftovers go to the livestock auction. Occasionally, one stays around- Crybaby, for example) It pays at least for part of my chicken addiction and I love hatching babies. My greatest joy is when a "new" chicken person embarks on there first babies. You know, everyone should have a chicken or two, or twenty.

Congrats on the new coop and all the new babies!

I was wondering that, too.

I'm at Duke, still hanging out. Daughter is scheduled for two procedures tomorrow

So I'm needing a chicken fix. Lets talk about that!

CHICKENS! I avoided TSC like the plague today

It was tough, but yah know...

I have hard time driving by the place when I know it's chick days in there. One good thing about being here... I have an excuse to hatch more since I couldn't buy any... yeah that sounds good to me.

Turkeys?? What kind? I wanna try them! I'd love to have Thanksgiving dinner from my back yard. My BIL says he'll do the deed if I raise it.

So will your ducks and turkeys stay in there while your chicks hatch? Or do you use a hatcher?

Thanks for asking. Things with my daughter are improving, but she must get a new liver drain tomorrow and we are hoping we don't start the infection process all over again. Our chicks are due Sunday and we are hoping to be home by then. And, good news, she is getting portacath (permanent access for blood draws and iv drugs). She's been through enough and this will make life easier for her and me because I can draw her blood and give her her meds at home without home health having to hit our house everyday. And it will be less painful for her. Her veins are shot from so many draws and meds in them and she's a hard stick, some days requiring 5 or 6 tries before even the best phlebotomist can get her blood. So I am happy about the portacath, wishing we didn't have to do the liver drain again though.
