Shark snipers Wine dots NEW HATCHES and puppies 1/24/2011 update

He was a mille fleur booted bantam (sablepoot) and gorgeous, also very friendly. I still have his brother for breeding, but it's like really? This trial and error thing is killing me and there are NO avian vets up here...

There are no avain vets in most places from what I have seen. We are our own ressources on here. Most of us are learning right along with you. What did his problems look like? Please share so we know what to look for.

jeez, I'm so sorry

What is going on lately?!

Bad hatches, culling chicks, passing roo's. It's not like most of us haven't done successful hatches before. Why so many problems this time? It's perplexing, and frustrating.

Fourteen pyncheons into lockdown, all were doing well when I candled on day 17. Three hatched, 1 put down (from this morning), 1 is doing extremely well, the other is tiny and cries constantly. The others haven't done anything, including the 2 serama eggs from my own chickens. Granted, they aren't due until tomorrow, but with 3 out already, they should have pipped by now. Opened the last 3 eggs left in the other bator, they were all gone. The silkie egg looked like it had bled out in there. Hadn't pipped the aircell though. The other 2 were late quitters.

I grew up in Delmar... I know how things work in NY! My friends parents were always state senators and crap... on salary and spending summers at the Whitney Cup in toga at the track while they said "sorry... the budget isn't done yet" but we didn't care... they always left 40 bucks on the table for pizza LOL.

OH another update

I checked the bator for temps and humidity tonight and saw an egg that had like sweat like beading going on so I "had" to candle again to check all eggs-I threw away 4 more BLRW :-(
