I think I need to choose easier breeds
hmm.png
at least a couple so I can say I succeeded

I just got some b/b/s andalusian and some gold lakenvelder, hopefully they are hardy. Just put Spangled Russian Orloff and mille fluer d'anver in too. Overall this is a crappy year for hatching for me. Guess I should just make my pens and hatch my own

not like I have boring breeds...fox just took the wind out of my sails when he took the girls I needed

my lavender araucana chick is still alive

comb already looks like it has 3 rows though

, I am hoping it is because they are a project

I would really prefer a pullet to go with my lav split roo.

My first hatch this year I got 100%-JG's. The second hatch I got 100%-Faverolles. It was downhill from there. Same methods, etc. 20% on the BLRWs, 50% on the seramas, 25% on the D'Uccles. And it seems that most of the poor hatches were clear eggs from the beginning. I think I only had 1 quitter. Go figure.

That is fantastic about the GFM! I love it! So wonderful that someone would do that for others.

I just bought mine, and I still haven't decided what to have mine say. I am sure that it will come to me.

SO the guy that bought my chicks looked very nice, had his children and father with him. I got a good vibe. I made it very clear that they were straight run. He was OK with that. Natalie he also said he's looking for more. I don't feel as bad now knowing they are going to a decent farm.

shoot! Im a bit away for them to travel though:-( Im so glad you got good vibes-there's nothing better than that! I got great vibes off the last people who bought chicks from me and they only live 10 minutes away and asked if I would come and visit to see them!!! Im almost tempted to give them a hollar for some of my oddballs that need need rehoming-they loved them!!!

Congrats on selling your babies to a good home!

My hatch rates vary- by far the best when they are not shipped. Shipped eggs I am thrilled with 50%, the post office is a master at scrambling eggs.

My BBS Orps from Missprissy and my coronations from keesmom are both hatching now. I am trying SOOOOO hard to keep my hands off of the incubator. I keep going out to scrape chicken coops since the sun is shining and we had a really nasty storm this last week. Awwww....gotta love chicken poo.

I just figured out that I am a gold feather member. Thank you to whomever made that wonderful gift- It made me get teary. I know I am not on here alot, but I definitely feel as if this is where I belong. Thank you again for brightening my day!

well, I lost one ameraucana chick. One I helped out cuz I thought it was too big....well I banded it on a different leg so I could keep track of it. I heard a LOT of peeping last couple of days but other than change the paper towels, water and feed I didn't spend any time cuz I had some sort of stomach bug
sickbyc.gif
. No more peeping and that one is dead so I would say it was the noisy one, I wonder what was wrong with it? No idea but when I start hatching my own eggs I WILL NOT help any chicks. I just hate not getting any when you spend so much $$ and you can help. Not knowing if the shipping was the problem or if it was genetic. With that said I helped out my one lav araucana survivor and hope it makes it *sigh*

I also set some more eggs, will have to update
