Oh Nava, I'm so sorry! Your Orps are beautiful and fluffy, and I wish I was there to give you a hug and a shoulder.

Cool run- Kelsey.

I think the Coronations are beautiful birds too.

Is it just me, or are BLRW a pain in the hiney to hatch and keep alive. Out of 15 eggs I ended up with 7 babies and only 3 of them have made it to 2 weeks old. And i think they are all roos.

This would not be bad but my 11 week old BLRW teenagers consist of 4 boys and 2 girls. Grrrrr. I am going to gave to either buy more eggs or buy chicks this time. Any idea where to buy BLRW chicks? Thanks everyone.

Oops- I wanted to add that it was not the eggs- I had great development but they kept quitting at the end. Maybe they need something special through the incubation process?

What's "cooling" them?

You have to take goose eggs out of the incubator, mist them and let them cool for 15 minutes a day, I did 45 minutes last night

Anyone ever had a chick that was blind. Or didn't have eyes. the chick that was bleeding and hasn't opened it's eyes, well, I think it's because there are no slits there. I had reached in and got it earlier when it was bleeding. It's under the light, and is breathing ok but just laying. And it's eyes don't appear to have any opening. It was the first chick out. Maybe it was just too early??
