I LOVE spangled birds. Ana the Orloff (Anastasia) from Ideal has very few spangles but is an awesome mahogany color. Really striking. But I do love spangles. Ana, of course, is perfect is her way.

If you make a spangled ameraucana with decent blue eggs, I will be your first customer!

considered that but I think the orloff is closer in body type(I know skin color is wrong), besides I think they look cooler

ok, so what gives? I have 4 d'Anvers out and they were all supposed to be mille fleur. 2 look possibly like cuckoo, 1 self blue(?), and maybe 1 mille fleur. I know there are color variations with some of these patterns but I don't *think* they can all be mille fleur....

I sent an email and am waiting for a response, maybe a communication error as his invoice says 12 d'Anvers(it doesnt' specify) but I wrote a few emails clarifying. Maybe he forgot and sent me a variety

which of course doesn't help cuz I only NEEDED the mille fleur *sigh*. Anyone have experience with hatching mille fleur, how varying can the chick down be?

well, they are still hatching so I will get pics tomorrow when I pull them to put in the brooder...

eta- that if mille fleur is supposed to be dark with a gold head then I don't think the one I thought was mille fleur is

it is mostly gold, will have to go see what other colors he has....
I am sooo bummed, I was going to turn the bator off, now I have to hope I have at least a pair of mille fleur with what's left....
