ok, so for my possible frizzled NN so far I have 2 naked neck barred, and the rest not NN - one yellow, one barred and one blue. Still have one in the bator, can't tell color but it is light from what I can see, now to see if it's a NN when it finally comes out. Then I gotta wait to see who is frizzled.....
I candled my silkied ameraucana since I was transferring them to my
brinsea. It's only day 3 and I can see definite development in 5 of 7. I won't candle again for a while but I am hoping for no quitters
as for my d'Anvers I am down to 2 dun quail, 2 mille fleur and 2 cuckoo.
Looking through my brooders I really wish I didn't have a limit on how many chickens I can have. I try not to keep too many roos as it draws too much attention. I bribe my neighbors with eggs but I know the people on the backside of the property(on another road) will report me if it gets too noisy here. Talked to dh and he was telling me about his idea for a new coop when he comes home. He wants to make a large shed type with a walkway down the middle and pens on each side. I figure if he does that then I will rotate the roos outside....maybe it wouldn't be so bad? Also, I am really surprised at how much I like those orloffs, they are just so different looking with their hooked beak and awesome spangling....if they were only friendlier........
gotta go ice my finger, got it caught in the brooder. Lid was falling and a chick was there so I tried to grab. My motion to grab scared the chick thankfully but I only grabbed the lid with one finger as I wasn't fast enough and now I have a bruise/bloodblister on my finger
need to modify brooder so THAT doesn't happen again
