They are birds bred to lay olive colored eggs-really olive colored not light green like EE's. You take an amacauna and cross them to a dark egg gene bird like Cm-FBCM-wllsummers etc...the resulting chicks lay dark green eggs:) I have 4 now:) I also have eggs that are blue and green but crossed with a FBCM daddy so those resulting chicks should lay the dark eggs:) so so pretty!!

Krista, Are these all eggs you got from Tater's Chickens ? 'cause I had 24 from there that never did anything either....

no, I got 2 from Tater's. These were bantam ameraucana, they would have made one of my projects a bit easier instead of trying to cross the banties to my lf ameraucana since the bantam ameraucana were only slightly bigger than the birds I want to use.....

My mothers cat killed my baby Mallard last night :

I put him in the bathroom sink to swim, the cat was let into the house by my mother. I went into the kitchen (next room over literally 10 feet from the bathroom sink) the cat streaked into the bathroom, grabbed the duckling and took off through the house with it. I'm feeling homicidal towards the cat. My mothers reaction? "It's what cats do... he's a cat"

I think I may implode...

please cross your fingers for me....I am getting my first adult birds shipped to me. He warned me they look rough as they were in breeder pens but that is fine with me as long as they are healthy

I am hoping to hatch some of their eggs when they get here to see what I get. I hope they make the trip ok

Now I have to find a place to quarantine them
