Hey, Ace, I just saw you are raising Hollands! I am getting out of Hotots and English Angoras and opting for French Lops. I have a buck coming tomorrow!! (Sorry for the thread hijack y'all...)

Now I'll get back on topic.

They are 6 weeks old today. The roo with the big muffs was yellow with a few dark spots. Mostly yellow. The hen with the muffs was solid black.

And of course, the silkie was black. But she has some "grey" like coloring to her. So I think that may be from the split lavender, but not sure.

Does the black/red one have 5 toes?

Kiss and a curse, kiss- your baby girl is well enough to come home... curse- you lost your other girls. I don't know whether to hug you or cry so I'll do both...

No, just four. But Natalie said because of the lines some do have 5 toes. Do you have pics of yours up anywhere?

Yeah, all. The only good thing is the evil PR girl is gone. She was mean as sin to people and other chickens. But the rest of the girls were really sweet and I'm sad. But maybe it's because we just came home with my daughter, but it's easier to keep in perspective. I love my chickens, and I hate it happened, but I can't help but feel blessed that my baby girl is home, it's spring (almost) and at least it's the perfect time to begin again. On the other hand, my son and his buddy are lying in wait for a coyote tomorrow night with a rifle and a shotgun. He's eaten his last chicken on our land. They have a rabbit call to bring him (or them) in. We've been told there may be more than one.

HIya blessed....glad you are back...and sorry to hear of your hens!!!

Are they all in the same bator? I'm wanting to try a staggered hatch maybe, but this is just my second hatch so I think I'm just gonna put another bator up.
