I'm sorry brin, I hate being taken advantage of but alot of times I set myself up. I have since learned with the chickens, when I have some to leave (for sale or otherwise) I put them totally separate from my other birds. once the person has decided that these birds are for them and paid, I might show them the others. many times mine are free ranging so they may not see them anyway but this way, I've never hade anyone change their mind about the ones they are taking, they just want more of what I have . I had one lady 2 weeks ago, came and bought my blr roo and some other spares including a black copper marans cockeral. she so wanted my marans pullet but it was the only one I had and the wheatons I bought turned out to be boys (rehomed already). so the guy I got the boy pullet wheatons from got out of birds including all his wheatons and bc. I offered 2 of the bc to this lady and she didn't want them since they were not feather legged and were not the same breed. (I explained they were) oh well, so I have extra bc hens running around and a coop full for winter, seriously need to make some space.
I'm keeping 8 blr over the winter and with marans, americanas, silkies and 2 white wyandottes - I will have too many eggs come spring- hoping for good auctions.
some how didn't get very many boys and only have 1blr cockeral- had hoped for 2 going into winter, oh well.
