I lived in Albuquerque many years and grew addicted to the green chile. It's great on pizza. Jemez is gorgeous. Did you make it to the hot springs?
It gets quite cold here. We go from scorching heat (a DRY heat) to bitter cold (a DRY cold) with little in between.
Not accepted? Even better! Big time 'rule breaker' here- lots of 'not accepted' birds here.

No time for the hot springs- friend wanted to show the cabin they have up there(WAY up there) and also the mines.. saw the soda dam though. Too funny, friend is addicted to green chile- it's really on everything. Tried one bite, let's say my friend had a great time laughing at me. I probably have your scorching heat beat, 110-120F summers here... part of reason most of my chickens have naked necks(major reason is their beauty, of course).
But did you jump off soda dam? And yes, dominant white...laced.
