It gets quite cold here. We go from scorching heat (a DRY heat) to bitter cold (a DRY cold) with little in between.

No time for the hot springs- friend wanted to show the cabin they have up there(WAY up there) and also the mines.. saw the soda dam though. Too funny, friend is addicted to green chile- it's really on everything. Tried one bite, let's say my friend had a great time laughing at me. I probably have your scorching heat beat, 110-120F summers here... part of reason most of my chickens have naked necks(major reason is their beauty, of course).

But did you jump off soda dam? And yes, dominant white...laced.

Hoppy, Great to hear that the blood work has got a whole stack better. What about the lead/heavy metals? Maybe now that they have stopped taking blood for a while it will recover quicker!! How are you feeling now? Are you back at work?

And update on hatching eggs.. after the shockingly bad last 80+++ shipped eggs (4 chicks (yup 3 roos), and 4 eggs on lock down) I have finally had some great luck!! Won 12 silkies eggs, got sent 18. Perfect packaging. Thank you Kelar!!! 15 are developing!!!! It was SOOOO good and her silkies are such high quality that I HAD to get some more before the price became totally outrageous. I hope it does because she deserves it!!!!
These will mostly go to 4-H-ers which makes it even more fun.

Yeah! on the silkie eggs Phage. Oh and the twins are still progessing. Today is day 8. You mentioned fixing the last egg. What is involved?

so my bday is today 39

I got up took youngest to school-oldest stayed home sick:-(

I went and finished the grocery shopping for chickenstock
turned in my gift certif-dh bought me last year and had myself a manicure-pedicure-and 1 hour massage-
went and bought liquor for chickenstock
mopped house
steamed cleaned carpets
bleached bathrooms
washed dogs
cutting veggies and such to go into rest of recipes for chickenstock and its only 3:30

Im whipped Im hoping Dh will surprise and take me to get a bite to eat so I dont have to make my own dinner!!! haha

Page awesome on silkie eggies!! I cant wait to see photos of those!

Did you breed lacing into those? One of my projects is laced turkens, have a cockerel with pretty decent lacing(for a mix).. but not sure what to do next.. most pullets have (poor)pencilling or a big mess of a pattern. Would like to know how to choose and mate them up so I don't have to hatch a billion chicks to get 2 and if luck is shining, 3 chicks with decent lacing... Never worked with lacing before so this is all new to me.
