all the eggs I sold last year were from 2 hens (remeber the evil weasel that killed most of my flock in feb?)- I sold in lots of 6 (usually 1-2 extras) and had very good hatch rates for shipped eggs. important thing is to keep them cool and tilt them each day.

Sorry, canning up the last of Brins order, cleaning chickens as I am having a screaming mite problem. I have to wash, blow dry and overnight hold chickens. Tonight I raid the coop with ivermectin. I have NO idea where the hell the little scumbags came from. I use DE religiously. No new birds... bah. So it's time to go uber heavy duty. Also cleaning, packing, painting, I stripped the coop, sprayed it, DE'd it and laid all new bedding. Busy Sunday...

ohh sorry, I must have missed that one. These last couple weeks have been nuts...but I think things are smoothing out now. I would love some. I'm loading Dec 11th for a New Year Hatch. I'll PM and Paypal you in a couple weeks.

one question for those that show, can you really put up your silkies crest in elastic so you don't have to cut it off when not showing?

poodle tape is best to use to hold the crest out of their eyes

what is poodle tape? like vet wrap?

Frontline spray, not the spot on stuff, kills em dead fast. I transfer it to a dropper bottle, 1 drop in crest, under each wing, and near the vent. A couple of mine were really bad and got 2 or 3 drops in areas. Get right down to the skin though, feathers won't cut it. You can also spray it on their legs to get rid of scaly leg mites.
