I think I want some of those for my next hatch. Do you like the breed? What do you know about them? I'm just starting to look into them, but I think they are beautiful and easy to sex by color at a young age. Is that correct?

I want those, Booted Mille Fleur, Silkies and Olives. And maybe some more EE's. I am hoping the BR/EE mixes I have in there will lay some colored eggs. But I am told the SF's lay a pinkish egg. Would like to have a few Maran eggs, too. So I am starting to look. I can't have too many separate pens, so I have to be choosy. And I want good layers... not asking for much, huh? Oh, yeah, and I want the silkies for natural broodies...

Pretty much easy to sex except for this one. Feathered in like a girl (girls feather much faster, longer wings), but has a pink comb. The saddle feathers coming in are round. The other 2 known roos are just starting to feather, and still have shorter wings.

They are the sweetest chickens from chick on. I've hatched eggs twice now, and they are the only chicks that don't run from my hand. They love to sit on your hand. They are fluffy, like sink your face in their feathers, good layers, mine are very talkative. These and the JG's I think are my favorite breed for personality, layback easy-going, friendly chickens who take alot of notice of me

You sold me on the breed! That sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. And I see what you mean about the one being hard to sex. I don't know about this breed, but with RIR's the round saddle feathers have always been hens for me, even if they had huge combs that turned pink early. I was fooled by some early and was going to rehome them... was glad later than no one would take them, lol.

Gorgeous!! Yep. I want some of those! So am I correct that your boys are those with the dark feathers in the chicks? Do your girls lay well? I just love the muffs/beards!! That's one reason I love EE's so much!

The boys grow wing feathers that are mostly if not all black. The girls grow in the brown/salmon feathers. The girls grow the wings in alot faster, almost double the length of the males. I had to sex my white ones by the length of the wing feathers at 2 weeks. Most you can almost tell at birth what they are.

I have an Ameraucana, and 2 EE's, and I find them flighty, and they never want to snuggle. Now I have SF's too, and get all the snuggle I want. All my SF's are from Pasofinofarm. Henry Hammock raises bantam faverolles.

My next and LAST hatch of the year will be split lav silkies some more olive eggers and I have EE egss but debating if I want to do it or throw them up for auction? OOOh I have 14 BBS orp eggs from Gumpsgirl coming:) thats it though since I let my standard cochins out of their breeder pen to free range :-(

I wanted some of those Gumpgirl eggs, so I will be anxiously awaiting their hatch with you!

I looked at that auction over and over - musta been 30 times at least - I wanted those so bad! But had no place to put them. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

I've had one Ameracauna hen who was a real jewel. Would fly onto and hang out on my shoulder alot. The roos were very standoffish, but calm. They never were aggressive or anything. I've never had an EE as an adult, but I like colored eggs. And fuzzy faces!

Yours are large fowl though, right? If I get the MF's and the silkies, I don't really want any more bantams I don't think.

Me too. But I really want to stick to my Jerseys, and Nava gave me a wonderful splash orp.
