Aren't the barred ones black with a spot on their widdle heads?

Yah but they're barred crossed with solid roo which means barred= boy and solid = girl. The spot thing DOES NOT WORK on my chicks LOL!!! Mine crowed at me

I need to go pay the amish and drop off the window. I can't WAIT for the next coop!!!!
AND MY FLIPPIN contractor finally showed back up and started to finish the siding!!!! WOOT! Dam I need to post some updated pics.

Ok, four of yours are out. Even one of the wax eggs. And 2 have white spots on the head, 2 don't. One has obvious white tips on wings. Others do not. Cute babies!

So far I have 4 BR/EE mix, on of Nat's mixes, and one silkie. I still have one more BR/EE pipped (another wax egg), and Nat's other mix which has been struggling for hours to zip. I finally took it out and peeled away some shell and put it back with the others. It is peeping loudly but doesn't seem strong enough to open the shell, even with the help. It didn't bleed really, so I think it's ready. If it would just stretch really well it could be out of that shell I think.

So not too bad considering that the last 5 days before lockdown I left them pretty much on their own. Son did the best he could but only turn 2x a day due to his 12 hour work schedule that week. Just hoping for this little struggler to make it and for the last pip to pop.

Here's a link to my gardens (some are pretty crappy pics, sorry) Let me know if this doesn't work ok?

Great roses! You get to have those cabbage type (english?) roses! Those type get all kinds of diseases down here 'cause they get stressed in the heat and humidity. Best bet we have down here is floribundas and a few of the antique and found roses. And some of the modern teas, but I'm not really keen on most of those. Black spot city. You still have to select through the antique pretty carefully! I had a huge mermaid rose that I thought was pretty indestructable but something got it and it did not leaf out this spring. It covered 20 ft of fence. I had to take all of it out piece by piece with welding gloves because the thorns were so wicked! I would LOVE to have a Ballerina!

You can grow all kinds of stuff up there that we can't down here. I actually live in zone 9! Well, on the southern edge of zone 9 and 8S. I wish I could grow everything you can up to zone 6 or so. So pretty.

AND NAT! Every few years we drive up that way, and next time we do I'll bring you a fish! My hubby makes 'em and I paint 'em!
He made our flotilla of flying pigs, too. The big fish weigh about 35 lbs and are all steel and turn and swim in the wind. He also made a barracuda that we got chromed and is very cool, but I have to put that up another time 'cause I didn't take a pic of it. Its in one of the ugly parts. He also made another barracuda but its not chromed, yet, but is better than the first!

I need to take pics of some of the other yard art he makes. He likes to make stuff BIG. Like a 3 ft dragonfly.

Do you do the steak and kidney pie or black pudding?

I always though desert names like spotted dick and boiled baby were really strange. Tradition I suppose. Taste good, though!

I do have some of the english roses, but most are the antique roses. I love mermaid, a friend of mine in TX sent me one, but I managed to kill it cuz I left it in the pot and didn't get it planted. I'm really bad about that.

I can't wait to see pics of your dh's art, the fish are totally cool. Especially the dragonfly please.

These pics don't do them justice. They are approx 5 feet long

Dragonfly - took out a yardstick and the wingspan is about 4 1/2 ft. He made it mostly out of odds and ends

or mucky fat... then again fry bread is not a real favorite either, but I love a good full english!

Update: 0/5 of my BLRW's all early quitters except one, formed, but dead. I give up on these bators. Or the location of these bators... or both
somad.gif
So total hatch out of 37 BLRW eggs... 5 chicks... this really is an expensive habit!

Hope is doing well as is Dotte. I'll try to do pics later also you can see Dee and Nat my 2 olive egg chicks and little Hope who had to wear a boot, but now her little foot is fine

Brindle - That Dragon Fly is AWESOME! Does your husband ever sell them or are they for personal enjoyment? I bet people would buy them!

4 of my 18 mfc made it to lockdown, today is day 21 and no pips yet. I've got my fingers crossed though!

8 of 8 b/b/s from ultra1classic made it to lockdown, today is day 20. I REALLY WANT THESE TO ALL HATCH!!!

Lovins - It's a really EXPENSIVE, exhausting, exciting, disappointing, joyful, heartbreaking habit. (we are all schizophrenic)
