Jen get a pipe cleaner and make hobbles for the little booner. It will be fine, with hobbles it will usually correct itself.

Great! I found some pictures using the pipe cleaner! I'll do that when I get home

struggling with it. Might go back after dinner. Last thing I need is more hatchery chicks. But I feel bad for them too. They offered to give them to me for a buck.what should I do? they're over a week old and not sold yet.

The bandaid method works for me. I posted the question just a week or so ago in the hatching and incubating section. Someone posted a pictorial on how to.... it worked very well.

Can you post a link to your thread?

Well, I've decided that my little yellow chick does not have spraddle. I have taped it's legs twice, but after watching it more, it's obvious that there is something affecting it's left side. Almost like it's had a stroke. It's left wing is "withered" looking and it's left leg is very weak. It's right leg and wing seems strong though. So it just rolls around on it's back a lot. Hubby thinks I should cull it. I can't do it.

phage, here is another way but not as good. ut your hand in the brooder with the chicks, if any of them come up to you to peck you, usually those are boys. I've been having more girls then boys almost 2:1.
