No I sure don't, but I find it interesting and I'm curious. Its a very ancient process that goes back to when man figured out he could wear animal hair/wool and i find it fascinating.

My mother knits and crochets but I have no talent for it.

Do you comb your rabbits for wool? Shave them? Little nekkid bunnies running around in their PJs?

Yay Nat! Resist resist! Throw away all those ashtrays and butts so you don't have to look at them! Get your kids to do it so you don't have to handle them.

Yay, Nat. Keep it up. You are doing great!

No, I don't comb it off. When the wool is mature, it will release. I pull it by hand. It doesn't hurt and the rabbits actually enjoy it and will sit in my lap and let me do it. They are calm enough I could spin right off their backs if I chose to. I have English Angoras. I was breeding, but no more. They take too much grooming. And I just don't have time. I have bags of wool stored back, so I'm slacking off for a while. Pulled wool is more desirable because it doesn't have "second cuts" in there (short pieces that make slubs in your spinning). The first time I cut it, but as rabbits mature, it's easy to pull.

A mature rabbit blows it's coat about 3 times a year, producing a few ounces of wool at a time. Doesn't sound like much, but it really is when it comes to spinning.
