IDK..I opened her mouth and checked but I did see mashed food come out a little? :-(

it might have been that and there would have been nothing you could do. we've had it happen at the vet's office with a dr. standing right there and there is nothing we can do. you feel so helpless.

someone please pull me away from the hatching egg section- I have to stop looking there. I want to buy eggs but I have NO space in the incubator. I don't even have room to hatch any of my own babies - please- stop me!!

Nat - I AM SO SORRY! That really, really sucks. I got out my Raising Chickens book and read through the disease and health management section trying to find if there was anything in it related to what you said as symptoms, which appear to be none other than sudden death.

There are several different things that could have caused this, none of which you could have done anything about and I wouldn't expect any other chickens to have issues.
