I'm sorry, Nat. I know what it's like to be so careful and have something happen- my DH and I knew that my roo would jump the fence to "kill" the dog, we would always make sure he didn't when the dog was out, except my DH went in the house for something, and when he came out, my roo was shredded. He was a real loving roo, and my DH's special buddy. My hubby cried like a baby. I just kept telling him it could have happened to either one of us. It was an accident, and no one, including you, wants an accident to happen. I'm so sorry.

ok, need help on the 24hr thread, I bid at 10:53 on an auction that was started at 10:53, the person that bid at 10:52 says I bid after the auction ended... did I?

eta- I gotta run out for a few hours, I will have to follow up after..

Krista...even tho I would have loved that you won...I could have been wrong...just looked at how they do in the BSA, and it would have been the person who bids up to that certain minute...not at the minute...does this make sense?

Im sorry

I'm sorry kelsey.

I used to work at a wildlife shelter as triage tech. They didn't have a regular vet on staff, so it was just me. We has a beautiful blue jay that was brought in one time. It had hit something and ruptured some airsacs. It was dehydrated, so triage protocol at that particular shelter was to subQ with ringers. I had done this literally hundreds of time before successfully. Somehow I got the ringers into an airsac and the poor jay died drowning in my hands. I was horrified.

The shelter director assured me that things like that happen when dealing with living things and we never know why, it just does. Yes I had subQed correctly and in the right spot and I managed to kill the jay anyway. It is sad, but it just happens. Since that time I have decided what she told me is true. You just have to get used to stuff like that - I don't mean be callous or insensitive - but just regret it for a short time and move on.

Be happy because you had chicks hatch! Yay chickies!

Life is to short to take up too much time regretting accidental things.

yeah, we used to say end time was the next minute after the auction started(10:53) so any post at 10:54 wouldn't have counted.
So seller agreed with me anyway and offered us both eggs. Can't very well snipe eggs if they don't have a guideline in place to know when you can do it

I have/used to have some. I am a little worried that my chickens ate them this winter. I have not seen anything yet this year. That is why I am looking for some. I bought one bulb this spring and it was $13. YIKES! I have a picture that I will post showing what mine looked like 2 years ago.

Extremely similar to mine. Mine JUST started coming up and since you are will north of me you may have to wait a while long. I really want to get rid of mine - so if you want some now is the time!

I would love some. I will send you a PM. Thanks!!!!!

OMG!!!!!! Crazy. A thousand dollars for 12 eggs- I definitely would have a stroke, actually, I think my dh would have the stroke, lol.

I am getting ready to go put my pics on disk, will try and post a few later this evening.

Thanks for helping me find the 24 hour auction thread,

Now I am in trouble. I have spent a hundred dollars on eggs today. I so need to get off of the computer. It really is addicting.

My incubator emptied yesterday with 5 very cute blue and splash silkies hatching. They are soooo cute. My daughter is already in love with them.

Very sorry on the lost babies.

Accidents happen though, you cannot blame yourself. If I had ducks I would so send you eggs.
