Naked Neck folks are really sensitive. You should try having American Staffordshire Terriers at shows and other public venues - especially because of the pit bull scare. You talk about owner's needing a thick hide!
My employer at the dog training facility doesn't even like my dogs and mine are FAR better behaved than her shelties. She won't even let me work my dogs in the next fenced ring if her dogs are in the other fenced ring. I've developed a thick hide, in case you haven't noticed. When you own things other folks aren't particularly fond of its a good thing to have.
