Nothing vertured, nothing gained. I think I have an idea what you might have in mind dak, and should be doable, with a little patience, and persistance.

I still have that male we talked about, just hear too many bad stories about shipping big birds.

Yes, there aren't many local people to do chicken things with here. I'm jealous of all the chickenstocks and swaps (AND meeting people in person). I'm having some birds shipped in Sept. when things cool down a little. There IS a local APA show close in Nov., I'm going to attend, and maybe enter something just to get my feet wet.

I think the closest I'll get to NY, is Michigan. I think, unfortunately, I'll be attending a funeral there in the upcoming months.

well, I got my first rotten shipped egg today

. went to unpack them and could tell something didn't smell right. It was a row of bubble wrapped eggs, so they ALL smelled. I CAREFULLY unwrapped and smelled each one waiting to find the one that was the worst. Oh man did I....I gently rolled it up in some of the extra wrap then put it in a couple plastic bags and then placed it outside. Guess that means it's a good time to stop getting shipped eggs

cuz this was a reputable seller. I am convinced this oegb roo is not too bright. EVERY single time I give them clean water he spills it and fills whats left with shavings

and he dumps the food each time too, that I get cuz as he kicks it everywhere he calls the girls over

I am hoping for some time to build something like a hutch cuz he is driving me crazy with the shavings....

Well, I'm prone to road trips. So if by some bizarre stretch I'm going out there, or someone on the chicken train is headed your way I could send you the rooster. All of my BLRW's are from the best lines, well except Hoppy, I wasnt that lucky this year, but I may just need to add some more bloodlines next year...

The duck eggs just went into lockdown. 19/20 with 5 of those questionable so if the other 14 hatch I'll still be swimming in ducklings.

I don't know if it's the antidepressants or the illness, but for a long time I lack motivation or energy or both. So I have a million things to get done, and can't get myself to get up and do them. Then I drown in guilt. In February, I moved my horses to a barn that had people at it alot, and moved them there because it was incentive to get there and ride, which is working.

So, we have a housekeeper at work who's always talking about her hubby who's out of work, she has 4 kids, they can't make their rent payments, and the hospital only pays her 7.50 an hour (I question that) but she can go on and on and on. I shouldn't have but I asked her if she was interested in cleaning my house. She said she was and went on and on about her financial situation. She was supposed to get my phone# tuesday night. She didn't. She got it wednesday night. Then she said she would call me after she talked to her hubby so that he could watch the kids, and tentatively I wanted her to come friday morning. Well she didn't call me till 9pm, and I didn't answer. I don't know if I can deal with the never ending chatter about her finances, and I guess I expected her to call me yesterday. So I think I might just find someone else.

My thinking is that if my house gets clean, I can be outside weeding, planting the 12 bushes I bought 2 weeks ago, etc. I have lots to do outside, the weeds are taller than my bushes out front, etc.

I'm hoping that this help will get me going again and I can get things done. Don't think I have money to burn, I'm just tired of feeling guilty, and it's worth the money to relieve some guilt.

Re silkies. When I get the crow to stop stealing the silkie eggs, and they are laying, I can send some eggs out, they're test eggs because so far my group here has only had female chicks, and I'd like to see if that holds true. Wouldn't that be great?
