After a year of waiting for these and a great year for shipped eggs the Exchequer leghorn eggs got trashed by the PO. Yolk on the outside of the box. What were not broken have detached air sacs. They were pretty well packed. I do not know how they managed it. Always the ones you really want.

I was totally devastated. They are only eggs but I was.

Well, I broke down and took someone up on an offer of replacement eggs this week. I'll let you all know which vein busts in my husband's forehead. AND I quote "chickens don't belong in the house".

What I didn't tell him is I have some project eggs coming also. Hope the timing works out.

Also won some split coronation/light sussex eggs at the W/E for NOTHIN, and DH nearly bust a vessel as we are going away in 6 weeks. He does not know about the EX LEGS. I need to be home when they get here.....

No chicks are in the house now - All are now outside/ in garage.

And I do sell the extra chicks pretty quickly, and he does not seem to be bothered by the $$$

Phage, all those broken eggs? I'd be livid, but complaining to the USPS is a waste of time. Someone sent me eggs once and had this really nice sticker, I should have cut it out. It said something like -egg embryos, please don't hurt us-or something like that.

Chocolate Polish? I will be looking forward to seeing them, I love Polish as you can see in my avatar, LOL

I think that was a very very nice thing that Speckled Hen did. A moderator with a heart!

I guess our thread just demonstrates what happens when friendship blossoms from people that were hatching sniped eggs together!

Rainy season has finally arrived in my neck of the woods. It's funny how we don't have to water our lawns all summer, just spring and fall.

Yesterday, I had just tucked my horse away, got in the car, and it took me half an hour to drive 7 miles home-I couldn't see. Then I pull into the driveway and the rain is super heavy. And I couldn't walk from car to house because the lightning was so bad, continuous and right over my head, one bolt right in front of my windshield. I had to sit in the car for 30 minutes because I couldn't walk the 25 feet to my front door. The bucket outside had 6 inches of water in it. That's alot of rain.

Of course, if no one gets hurt, I love being home when we get the bad storms, I love listening to thunder.

Two years ago lightning hit a very big tree in my paddock about 160 feet from the house. It snapped the trunk of the tree .

What is the w/e ???? I am always looking for a place to buy eggs, lol. I keep saying I am done then buy more. Coro/ light are the last I want to buy a batch of for the season (only ended up with 3, 2 roos and 1 hen). Hoping to add a couple more to my group.
