no no, no transfusion, just iv iron to get my levels up. thankfully the last time they checked my blood it was 8.3 and they transfuse at 7 so I'm safe for now.

good news, I sold all of my extra chickens including the extra roos, one less thing to have to think about.

Cindy, you're most likely right. I guess she thinks she can be a bully to me.

And Lovins, nurses do eat their own. There are evil ones. There were 2 who worked with me, but 1 was fired a few months ago. (heehee). Now it's just this one.

Anyway, after next week I am on vacation for 3 weeks. I'm going to visit my daughter in San Antonio. Ahhhh, time away!

vacation for 3 weeks, you'll not want to go back after that or things might have changed personal wise and you won't have to deal with miss KMA.

Why do nurses find it necessary to eat their own? I swear we can be the kindest or the most evil people you've ever met. I bet you know what kind of nurse I am MWAHAHAHAHAHA.... ((hugs sem))

No kidding! I worked as a dialysis tech. for a awhile prior to vet school with rns, lpns and techs, and that was the most nasty, back-stabbing bunch I've ever encountered. It didn't help that the head RN was the worst of the bunch, and coddled her favorites.
Learned alot there, but SOOO stressful. My then hubby wouldn't let me work dialysis again when we moved to NM I was secretly relieved, but it was decent money at the time.

I'm sorry for all of you who have bird suffering from the heat. Things are starting to cool off here finally. The cochins aren't panting their little heads off all the time. I'm hoping that without the humidity, they can disapate the heat better here.

Hoppy good for you gettin rid of your extras,( and not needing a transfusion ). I need to start the process. I have 10 black Ameraucana cockerels to weed down to 2-3. I was thinking of keeping one Ribbeck, one Smith, and one Cree. Unfortunately, I have a lovely blue boy also from the Crees I want to keep to breed to my blue Ribbeck pullet. I have 3 lavender Ameraucana boys. One Ribbeck and two Shaffer. Only one of those needs to go. I'm waiting on my "SQ" gold laced cochin trio to get shipped, but if that roo is nice then I'll have about 7 GLC cockerels and probably a few pullets as well that need to go. The four black cochins are all staying. They're gorgeous.

I just gave all the cockerals I could identify to our local high-end feed store - even the Ribbeck ones. Someone is going to get REAL lucky and get some real nice cockerals cheap. I hate dealing with trying to sell them. I hate strangers coming to the house.

I kept one red LF Cochin pullet from a lemon blue breeding who isn't beautiful, but is real friendly and follows me around honking. I'm keeping a buff and blue pullet from the second hatching. She should be very pretty. I never could get a show quality pullet to hatch - only roos! Very annoying!

I wish I was closer - I would take one of your gold laced pullets.

You wouldn't want them. Nearly naked middle toes. From the same place as your Lemon blues. The Riverwind birds are better. Bigger and more toe feathering. All of them are too tight feathered. A common problem with the GLCs. I'm pinning alot of hopes on the trio I'm getting from Mr. Doerr.

Sometimes it's alot easier to rehome a roo with 2 pullets as a group. I've done that 3 times.

I will probably be having 5 extra roos, and I like them all. I think I'll try bachelor pad. 4 are blue Jersey Giants, Maria Hall line. Very lay back and do not run fast, LOL.

re job. I will stay there, however, I put an application in for home health visits. Not home health shifts, LOL
There might be a need up here for making sure that infant or pediatric discharges from a hospital may need a person who sets up any medical care in the home.
