Bob has gorgeous whites:) NO blrw eggs?? just because we have them doesnt mean you can't sell eggies. Some of the sharkies cant have the roos:-( I think there's only a few of us that have them??

What concerns me is being able to have fresh eggs to mail, I only have 2 girls left.

I bought 2 more batches of blrw eggs, but only 10 days into incubation I only have 1 left out of 6 eggs, the other batch is too early to tell.

I think the combo of the cold, less fertility later in the season and post office shipping does a number on eggs this late in the season.

Bob, do you ever list your white silkies? If so I am interested.

Nat- 23 Turkeys, I am totally impressed!!!

my whites just broke their broody ways last week... Haven't gotten back on a lay yet.. They should start back any day now...will hook you up if they start back in time..I don't agree with the just stick with solids for showing..my best results in shows have been with my splash... One of the biggest problems with splash is people keep breeding splash to splash generation after generation and you loose the splash coloring doing that... After one generation of splash to splash you should take the offspring back to a blue to keep proper markings in the splash...

I used to have that problem in NY with the horses. Then I started completely emptying the hose after using it, so there's nothing in it next time. It worked!

Silkie experts: I am hoping for some broodies in May next year, and have some silkies that are about 4 weeks old. Do you guys know if they would be old enough to go broody by May (not that they will when you want them to)? Also is it too late to get eggs now with the aim of having broodies in May, or am I too late for that?

You cant really tell but it's all mortise and tenon construction of hand hewn beams (post and beam). The walls are natural hand thrown mud plaster and it's a bale constructed house. Kinda neat. The new addition is all soy foam insulted and wired/plumbed for a professional kitchen. It will be awefully cool when it's done.

ETA my "suite" is 15x30!! No complaints here !!
