Ralphie and the pastel mammas parents are both duck and Jane. For sure, those were my first ducklings.

And yes. Sofie (blue fawn) Lexi(blue Bibb) and Maggie (black Bibb) I got from the same person. .but that person sold like 25 or so calls to a friend of mine, and then I got them from her. So no idea if those girls were related or whatnot.

Okay so, if you have a chocolate bibbed drake, which it seems you do, one of those mothers must actually be chocolate. Possible, since chocolate can be hard to see on a mallard base.

So, the theory I'm working on here depends on both Drako and this new drake being chocolate. Do you mind if I borrow those pictures and post them in a Call group to get some second opinions on that?

Don't mind at all. Go for it!
If it matters at all, I really think the pastel (thea) is the mom of all. She was the only one I ever saw going behind the feed can and I think she was the only one laying at the time. But the blue fawn Sofie is the only other possibility. Any other girls were too young and not laying, or Maggie and she was separated with her babies at the time.

I'm starting to believe it all goes back to duck and Jane somehow since Ralphie didn't get the blue fawn head color, Drako is his son without the right head color. . and .thea shouldn't have even been possible from a blue fawn drake and a grey hen to begin with. .. Maybe somehow she is actually a chocolate?

Rav. Had thought initially that Jane had a hidden blue gene due to the way her speculum looked half diluted.
