Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

Pics
Malibu looks almost all white, just barely has some silvery feathers around her tail area. But I love her dark bill..

I lost my silver drake to a hawk last month. :hit
But some of the eggs she is on "should" come out silver. That's one of the reasons I didn't take her eggs. After this, all the fertilizing will be done by my blue fawn drake.
Better pic of Malibu, and a flapping pic of Bacardi. RIP.

Sorry Shaw, didn't mean to derail your hatch thread, but at least you are between hatches now. :D

So here's a hatch related issue... I have 16 call eggs incubating, and 3 of them look like this. I doubt they will hatch, but at the moment, I still see movement inside. I've not had this happen before, but it has now happened with my cream legbars (shipped), one shipped turkey egg, and now call eggs from my flock. What the devil? Day 20.

Don't be sorry! :hugsIts all good.
Wonder what is causing that? Curious if they end up hatching. :hmm

That's really striking. I never see those for sale anywhere.

They're not very common, demand isn't really high for them and they're not an accepted colorin the standard... they're a byproduct of blue breeding... same thing as splash in chickens...

That’s exactly what I meant! I love it.

Here's another silver, more colored...

Ravyn says this is blue Bibbed I think.

Yep, she is a blue bibbed... and that's where silvers get their dark bills and webs from! :D
