This zoo had tons of ducks on a big pond, mostly Calls and mallards. This little drake for some reason was in an enclosed aviary for exotic ducks and pheasants instead of on the pond.

These are what I was trying to get a photo of:

White-faced whistling ducks. They were neat! Small little guys, though a little bigger than Calls. They also had teals, but they wouldn't pose for a picture.

Little photo bomber!:lau
Husband said they look like a guinea bred a penguin :lau:lau:lau:gig:gig
So. . do they whistle? :pop

:oops:I think I'm going to keep them all but zombie eye until I have a problem and or the girls pick their favorites. We are going to build on to the palace soon so I can sort them off if I need to. :p

With my first group of 3 girls and 6 boys, I also watched which drakes the girls preferred. Jax was a mean-ass, but was a beauty so he got kept by my choice. The girls picked the other 2.

:love
There’s an adorable one on a FB group, she has posted some cute videos. But they are an odd looking bird for sure. :D
I think Minihorse had one visit her pond last year? Belonged to a neighbor I think, but stayed with her ducks much of the time.

So one of Janes babies (about 8 weeks old) has been having a leg problem. It started around the 4th of July So I Thought it just got scared and sprained it's hip or something. .but it keeps losing the use of its right leg on and off. I have put him in a kennel by himself to restrict his activity for a couple days now and given him extra vitamin b and nutri drench. Been giving him swim time daily and he can paddle ok for a while. .but it seems like much use of the leg and it goes limp again. And even when he walks around sometimes it goes out from under him. I think his knee looks swollen. .
Anyone got some advice or insight for this little gimpy duck?
