Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

I have 11 total right now. 3 adult females, 3 adult drakes. 2 suspected juvie females, 1 suspected juvie drake, the 2 juvie silvers have still not given me a quack yet, but I'm on the fence with them. If they turn out to be drakes too, my 11 will be 5 hens/6 drakes.

So far my females I've raised have quacked pretty early. . as in by the time they finish feathering out I've heard a quack. Gimpy sure threw me for a loop with his call goose sound he was making. But he eventually did get his drake voice. So it can be tricky!

So sad to report that I'm down another hen. Phoebe went missing the other day. I kept hoping she would turn up, but no such luck.

So even though they hate it, I've locked all the ducks in their pen. I also moved their small pool from out in the main yard into the pen with them. So excuse the grime on it, but the water is clean. (relative term with ducks, right? lol)
