So. . that's 5 out now . . 4 more to go.

Well I'm going to go to bed and leave mama duck to it. She is doing so good! The last 4 eggs were still alive and working their way out so I might actually see a 100% hatch this time!! (Not counting the infertile ones of course.)

Oh my goodness The difference in the mama being raised by me is incredible. She doesn't mind me picking them up at all! She is being so good. I even sat and watched her nuzzling the end of the air cell, opening it up a bit wider and the baby inside opened its eyes and looked at us

8 babies out and fuzzy! One to go. It's still alive . .I peeled back a little of the shell to check
It seems it may have stalled out. But it's still peeping. So hopefully it will be busting out soon.

View attachment 1543989 View attachment 1543990 just saved this little one. . somehow the end cap from one of the hatched eggs got perfectly nested over the end cap of another egg. Poor baby had zipped all the way around But couldn't kick both shells off to get out. Whew. . lucky I checked!
