Hey Rooster, you can learn to read faster if you prefer images to text. Scan the words quickly and let your brain replace key words with corresponding images. Skip words like the, to, your. Skip entire sentences if the topic does not relate. You can always go back and look at every word if you need to.

My parents bought their house when I was around 11, Dad went nuts planting trees and little shrubs. It was my job to trim around all of them with the hand clippers. And I thought that was torture. At least he didn't give me chit scissors.

He’s a millennial so those books were long gone by the time his snotty little nose showed up.

PS: I have those books in my possession today...thanks to my librarian grandmother who tried her best to force me to learn the Dewey Decimal System. There was always friction between us!
